The company spend limit caps total AI spend across your whole organization for the month. When it is reached, elvex stops processing new requests for everyone until you raise the limit or the month resets.
Who can do this: Admins and Owners.
Set or change the limit
Open Admin, then Cost Management.
On either tab, find Company spend limit and select Change.
Tick Company monthly spend limit and enter an amount in US dollars.
Choose your alert settings (below).
Select Save.
The new limit applies from the next request.
If the new limit is at or below current spend
The dialog warns you before you save: a limit that is not above what has already been spent this month blocks everyone immediately. You can still save it.
Alerts
In the same dialog you choose when elvex emails about company spend:
Alert when spend reaches 75% of limit
Alert when spend reaches 90% of limit
Both are on by default. An email is always sent when the limit itself is reached, and repeats once a day while the company stays over it.
Who receives them
By default, company alerts go to every Admin and Owner.
To send them somewhere else, add addresses under Spend alert recipients. When that list has any addresses, alerts go only to those addresses.
These settings cover company-wide alerts only. Users are emailed separately about their own limits; see Spend alert emails.
Turn the limit off
Open the same dialog, untick Company monthly spend limit, and select Save. Company spend is still tracked, and any user limits you have set keep working.
What people see when the company limit is reached
In the web app, a banner says the monthly spend limit has been reached. Admins and Owners get a link to Cost Management; everyone else is asked to contact an administrator.
A request sent while over the limit is not processed, and the person sees the same message in place of a reply.
API requests are rejected with HTTP status 429.
