Home: Your Starting Point

What is the Home chat?

The Home chat is the primary entry point for users to engage with elvex. Treat a conversation there like you would other AI chatbots. The underlying model you are interacting with is controlled by your administrator and is visible at the bottom of your chat box.

When to Use the Home chat

  1. You need a quick, general-purpose AI interaction

  2. You have a one-time question or task

  3. You want to experiment

  4. Completing the task requires uploading only a single document or file

  5. You want to explore if another user has created an assistant you can use

Assistants: Specialized AI Applications

What are Assistants?

Assistants are customized AI applications, designed by you for specific tasks.

When to Use Assistants

  1. You have a repeatable task with a repeatable outcome you want to automate away

  2. You want to unify an experience for a team or a department

  3. Completing the task requires more customized datasources

  4. Completing the task requires providing the AI with specialized knowledge or context

  5. When you want to integrate with other platforms or workflows (via API)

Choosing Between Home and Assistants

  1. For General Queries: Start with the Home App

  2. For Specialized Tasks: Use a relevant Assistant

  3. For Exploration: Use the Home App to discover available Assistants

  4. For Integration: Use Assistants with API capabilities
