elvex now supports file attachments in Slack! To enable this feature, your Slack administrator will need to update the elvex app permissions in your workspace.
What You Need to Know
Existing connections will not be disrupted - your current elvex integration will continue working normally
New functionality requires updated permissions - file attachments will only work after updating scopes
No disconnection required - you can update permissions without removing the app
Steps to Update Permissions
Slack Administrators can update elvex permissions by following these steps:
Head to https://app.elvex.ai/settings/integrations in your elvex account.
Click the "Add to Slack" button (this will update existing permissions rather than create a duplicate installation).
Click "Allow" on the Slack permissions page to grant elvex the additional permissions needed for file attachments.
Once you click "Allow", you'll be redirected back to elvex. Click "Confirm Slack Installation".
What Happens After Updating
Once the permissions are updated:
All existing elvex functionality continues to work as before
Users can now attach files to messages when using elvex in Slack
elvex assistants can read and process attached files in conversations
Note: This update only affects Slack workspaces. elvex functionality in other platforms remains unchanged.
