Most AI tools start every conversation from zero. They don't know your role, the projects you're working on, or the files and agents you reach for every day — so you spend the first few messages of every conversation re-explaining yourself, or you settle for generic answers that could have been written for anyone.
My Space solves this. It's your private, personal workspace in elvex, and it's how you teach elvex who you are. Everything you put in My Space flows into every conversation you have, automatically — no re-attaching, no re-explaining, no starting from scratch.
You don't create My Space. It's always there from the moment you join elvex, and it belongs only to you. Nobody else in your organization can see it, and nothing in it is shared unless you choose to share it.
Why My Space Matters
Without My Space, every conversation in elvex starts cold:
You attach the same datasource to every new thread, because elvex doesn't know it's your daily reference
You re-explain your role and team before elvex can give you a useful answer
"Email my team" fails, because elvex doesn't know who your team is
The agent you use ten times a day has to be found and opened manually, every time
With My Space set up, elvex responds more like a colleague who's been on your team for months. It already knows your role, your tools, your priorities, and the resources you trust — so a vague request like "draft a status update" produces something grounded in your actual work instead of a generic template.
The difference isn't intelligence. It's context. My Space is where that context lives.
The Three Parts of My Space
My Space holds three things, each of which makes your conversations smarter in a different way.
Personal Context
Personal Context is a private, plain-language document about you: your role, your responsibilities, your working style, your tools, and your current projects. elvex reads it at the start of every conversation, automatically.
This is what makes requests like "email my team" or "write this in my voice" actually work — elvex already knows who your team is and how you write.
You can write your Personal Context yourself, edit it at any time, or let elvex build it with you conversationally — just say "interview me to fill out my context." elvex can also learn from your conversations and suggest updates over time, which you can apply automatically, approve one by one, or turn off entirely.
Pinned Resources
Pinning is how you tell elvex: "this resource matters to me." You can pin agents, datasources, and threads to My Space, and anything pinned there is automatically available in every conversation you have — no manual attachment required.
This is the highest-leverage thing you can do in My Space, and it's covered in detail below.
Sub-Spaces
Sub-Spaces let you carve out dedicated workspaces inside My Space for specific projects or initiatives — each with its own context and pinned resources. When a project needs its own focused setup (a product launch, a quarterly plan, a client engagement), a Sub-Space keeps that work organized without cluttering your main My Space.
Pinning: The Feature Worth Understanding
Of everything My Space does, pinning delivers the most value for the least effort.
Before pinning: You open a new thread, remember which datasource has your competitor research, find it, attach it, and then ask your question. Tomorrow, you do it again. Every conversation starts with setup work.
After pinning: You pin your competitor research datasource to My Space once. From then on, every conversation you have can draw on it automatically. The setup work disappears.
You might pin to My Space when:
You have a datasource you reference constantly — a competitor research sheet, a product roadmap, your team's knowledge base
You have an agent you use daily — your go-to writing agent, a data analyst agent, a meeting-prep agent
You have a thread with important ongoing context — a strategy conversation you keep returning to and building on
Pinning is a toggle, not a commitment. You can unpin anything at any time from the same menu you used to pin it, so My Space stays as current as your work does.
A note on pinning to My Space vs. a Shared Space: pinning to My Space affects only your conversations. Pinning to a Shared Space affects every member of that Space — and because resource permissions are managed separately, teammates may need to be granted access before they can use what you pinned there.
Common Questions
Can anyone else see my My Space?
No. My Space is private to you. Your Personal Context, your pinned resources, and your Sub-Spaces are not visible to teammates or admins.
Is pinning the same as attaching?
No. Attaching a resource adds it to a single message or conversation. Pinning makes it available to every conversation, automatically, until you unpin it. Attach for one-off needs; pin for resources you use repeatedly.
Does my Personal Context ever change on its own?
It can. elvex can analyze your conversations and suggest or apply updates to your Personal Context. You control this: choose Automatic (updates apply in the background), Get approval (you review each suggestion first), or Manual (nothing changes unless you change it) in your My Space configuration.
I removed something from My Space — did I delete it from elvex?
No. Unpinning a resource from My Space only removes it from your personal workspace. The agent, datasource, or thread itself still exists and can be found in your Resources or re-pinned later.
